Can it possibly be done? Can you imagine your world without a hot cup of coffee every morning? Do you feel dependent on caffeine to get you through the afternoon? These are important questions to consider in your life. The point of this post is to help you evaluate your caffeine intake. Some may disagree, but caffeine is actually not a detriment to your health in moderation, and is even helpful for many athletes. The key word in this fact is moderation. Caffeine, as you should remember, is a drug. In larger amounts, it can be downright scary. We live in a world where we can buy powdered anhydrous caffeine, therefor we live in a world where caffeine must be considered dangerous and even life threatening.
So, how do we break ourselves from the dominant influences of the morning Joe? It’s quite simple really. Have a single shot of expresso, or a small cup of coffee. This will be a much better decision then the 600 kcal quad mocha frappachino with whip. Another excellent alternative is drinking green tea. This is a potent antioxidant, and contains just enough green tea to keep you rollin’.
As for the other alternatives, don’t bother. Energy drinks, energy shots, B-vitamins, and other fun packages on the 7-11 shelf are not a good idea. These products are not regulated, and many times have twice the caffeine as coffee.
Just for kicks… try to get your hands on some real korean ginseng. It will make you focus. You might also see pink elephants flying around, but you’ll focus.
Have a great day!
