I’m sure most of you reading this is guilty of the thanksgiving “stuffing.” This is by no means a crime, but what can we do to counter balance that calorie intake from last week. It is very simple. Let’s assume that you ate an extra 5000 calories last week compared to normal. That means that you can shoot for that number in deficit for this week, and next. If we split that number over two weeks, that means that we need to either decrease our food by 2500 kcals per week, or increase our energy expenditure (exercise). A mixture of the two is probably the best plan for most of us.

2500 kcals is very easy to cut. That is about 350 kcals per day. This equals 3 less soft drinks, 3 less beers, 2 less tablespoons of butter, 3 less pieces of bread, etc. It does not take much to cut this per day.

As for exercise, this is about 30-40 minutes of jogging per day extra. That’s it.

So, don’t stress over thanksgiving. At Athlon Elite we think that feasting with Family is a great thing, and as you can see…. it’s not that hard to pay the toll.

Have a wonderful day!
