Personal Profile:

Ryan is the founder of Athlon Health & Fitness and now Athlon Elite.  He draws from 19 years of experience in health and fitness, orthopedic rehabilitation, sports performance, and the martial arts.  He has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master’s degree in Movement Behavior.  He maintains three certifications from the most prestigious organizations in the field, the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.

Over and above his academic training, Ryan has excelled in sports and the martial arts.  A black belt in Shotokan Karate, Ryan competed as a kickboxer achieving a ranking of #3 in North America by the International Kickboxing Federation.  He continues to train in the martial arts and pursue outdoor sports.  A popular instructor and trainer, Ryan’s goal and passion is to be a true leader and innovator in the health and fitness industry!

 


 

Amy Kistler, CPT

Personal Profile:
Amy grew up in Jamestown, California before moving to Chico, California to complete her degree in Kinesiology.  She has been involved in sports most of her life.  As a young girl she competed in gymnastics and dance, and in high school she added volleyball and soccer to her list of accomplished sports. In college she was active on the Chico Sate Dance Team, Expression, performing many shows at art events, sports games and festivals, and she danced/performed at a higher level for the Fusion Dance Company doing shows all over California, including regular performances at NBA games.

She has been professionally involved with personal training and group exercise instruction for over four years now and has truly found it to be her passion.  Her certifications through the American Council on Exercise and EFI Sports Medicine are just the beginning of a long and successful future in exercise and health instruction.  She focuses on creating fun and unique exercise systems and believes that the systems at Athlon Elite are the best in the industry.

Personal Profile:
Eric has been at Athlon Elite for two years and successfully runs our semi-private training program which is a specialized program at Athlon Elite of high level sports performance for athletes and Elite fitness for our “average Joe’s” aspiring to reach that level.  He is currently finishing his Kinesiology degree at Cal Poly and soon will be pursuing a Masters Degree specific to strength and conditioning for athletes.

Eric has a diverse background in this field having worked with everyone from NCAA Division 1 athletes to patients rehabilitating from traumatic spinal cord injuries.  His passion is training for sports performance and ‘superb’ physical fitness, and he very successfully brings that passion to all clients regardless of skill level or goals.  He is willing, eager, and highly qualified to help you meet each and every one of your fitness goals!

Personal Profile:
Ashley was born and raised in Santa Maria Valley and is currently employed by Athlon Elite and San Luis Sports Therapy.  He also works as a consultant for outside companies and volunteers on the Active Aging Task Force and serves on the Board of Directors for the Senior Nutrition Program of San Luis Obispo County.  Among his many accomplishments are recieving a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and working as an instructor where he taught classes to both children and adults.

His diverse fitness experience includes working at an exclusive retirement  community in Montecito, California, Casa Dorinda, where he was responsible for assisting with health, fitness, and safety programming for resident and employees.  Ashley is also certified and an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the National Strength and Conditioning Association, where he continues to further his knowledge and skills in the areas of excercise science and health promotion. He is constantly searching for innovative and cutting edge ways to deliver results.

Personal Profile:
Haley Daniel grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where she received her Bachelors in Athletic Training from Park University. While attending Park, Haley competed in her lifelong sport of soccer all four years for the university. After finishing her Masters in Exercise Science at the University of the Pacific, Haley moved to San Luis Obispo where she worked as the athletic trainer and sports medicine teacher for SLOHS for the past three years.

Haley is extremely excited to be a part of the Athlon Elite team where "pain is your friend"! Her passion for athletics, health and competition has driven her to further enhance other people's lives. She loves the outdoors, sunshine and her precious cat. Convinced she was a full-bred Californian in a previous life, Haley is determined to discover everything the west coast has to offer.

 


 

Cory Johnston, CPT

Personal Profile:

Hailing from the college party town of Chico, Ca, Cory decided to attend Cal Poly to gain knowledge in his interest in effects of nutrition on sports performance. Cory played year around baseball for Chico High and American Legion, his determination to be in the best shape for the season sparked his interest in sport specific weight training and nutrition.  He previously worked as an Exercise Room Assistant at the Cal Poly Rec Center and loved working in a fitness environment.  Cory enjoys the sport of bodybuilding and wrote his senior project on Creatine Supplementation and Athletic Performance.

He loves helping people reach their goals and being a positive influence in their life. He also likes staying active and playing softball to scratch that baseball itch. Cory believes in hard work to get results.
