This is an excellent test of endurance and threshold fitness. The 5K (either running or rowing) is a good indication of anaerobic (lactic acid) threshold tolerance. Many of you are probably thinking that I’m crazy, and that running a 5k is more like endurance. That is simply not true. If a 5k is an endurance training session for you, then you need to get in better running shape. The 5K should be an “all-out” effort, leaving nothing in the tank. This is a great test, and a great session. Run Hard, Run Fast, but never run away from a challenge baby!
